LILIAS TROTTER: A WOMAN YIELDED TO GOD’S WILL

Rebecca Hankins introduces us to Isabella Lilias Trotter, nineteenth century missionary to Algiers – a remarkable woman to say the least.

“Lilias Trotter left the world a stunning example of a woman completely yielded to God’s will. She lives on in her extensive writings, beautiful paintings, and the continuing work in North Africa that was started by the Algiers Mission Band.”

WHEN THE NATIONS BECOME OUR NEIGHBORS: UNDERSTANDING DIASPORA MISSIONS

Keelan Cook helps us understand what diaspora missions is and why we should care.

“The last two decades have created a “such a time as this” moment for the church in North America concerning the Great Commission. Many of the least reached peoples are now within arm’s reach of our churches. By reaching them here, we may be able to engage them back at home.”

Living decisively in a world that isn’t

Matt Rogers shares practical and insightful wisdom about honoring the Lord in our decision-making.

“It seems that the reluctance of many to formulate concrete dreams and take strategic steps toward those aspirations represents the spirit of the age more than a trust in the providence of God.”

THE FATHER’S LOVE: REFLECTIONS ON IDOLATRY IN SOUTH ASIA

Marylou Springer shares about her experience in South Asia and the lessons learned while observing the culture.

“It’s difficult to understand such devotion to a god that must be woken up and fed – a god that was created by mere human hands, who makes no sound nor motion. And yet, isn’t this what we do? Worship the created things rather than the Creator?”
