Commissioning Chapel is a time each Spring to celebrate those deploying for international or North American missions and church planting for longer than 60 days, including those serving with the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, or similar agencies. Participants also include those who are planting a church or part of a core team being sent out each year.
For each individual recognized as someone who fits the above description, the CGCS would like to recognize them and their churches and pray over them during this special service.
The focal point of Commissioning Chapel is the chapel service itself, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 21st, 2026. This will be a typical chapel service with worship and a message, followed by the commissioning ceremony. Everyone being commissioned will come to the front while the rest of the students, faculty, staff, family, and friends join alongside them in praying for their upcoming ministry.
Prior to the chapel service, the CGCS will host a breakfast for those being sent out, as well as their immediate families and missions pastors if applicable. Register for the breakfast by contacting us here, as an RSVP is required to attend.
In order to attend the chapel and the breakfast beforehand, you must RSVP to register you and those who will accompany you. While anyone you want to invite to the chapel service is welcome to join us in celebrating the faithfulness of those being commissioned, we ask that if you are being sent out, please only register yourself, your immediate family members, and the missions pastor of your sending church for the breakfast and chapel service.
Since being commissioned and attending the breakfast are RSVP only, please ensure that you register accordingly. If you have more questions about who is eligible to attend each event, please contact our office here for more clarification.
Fill out this form, or contact the CGCS here for more information.
