New Opportunities to GO

Every so often, the CGCS is contacted regarding missions or planting opportunities available for current students or alumni that would be of interest to our student body at Southeastern. Here are a couple new opportunities that could be of interest:

Pastor for Tbilisi International Christian Fellowship

Tbilisi International Christian Fellowship is a local ex-pat church in the Middle-eastern country Georgia that is searching for a new lead pastor. Located in Tbilisi, Georgia, TICF is a 20 year old church with members from several denominations but base their doctrine solely on Scripture. To find out more about the church’s beliefs and the position, visit their website.

To apply, submit a cover letter introducing yourself and expressing your interest, a resume, and link to a sermon you have preached recently, if available, to ticf2018@googlegroups.com. Deadline to apply is May 25, 2018.

Church Planting Residency at Lakewood Baptist in Gainesville, GA

For the past five years, Lakewood has developed a church-planting network with 25+ churches across the US and Central America. In recent years, they have added a residency program to train and to send out church-planters. This year, they are sending out their first class of residents to plant churches. As they send out this first class, they are looking to bring new residents on board this fall for the next class.

Lakewood offers “a two-year residency designed to prepare future church-planters to succeed where the Lord has called them. The program takes a holistic approach to this preparation by offering rigorous training in biblical and theological studies, fostering the spiritual formation and personal development of residents and their spouses, and providing practical ministry experience.” Here are a few details about the program:

  • Two-year program for the holistic development of future church-planters
  • Rooted in the local church and filled with practical ministry experience
  • Mentoring from pastors with decades of experience
  • Rigorous biblical and theological training with credit toward MDiv.
  • Emphasis on the spiritual formation and personal development of church-planter and spouse
  • Drawing from the collective wisdom of a network of church-planters
  • Offers a monthly stipend
