The SBC of Virginia has a newly established partnership with churches in the city of Panevėžys, Lithuania with the eventual goal of planting a healthy, reproducing Baptist church in the city. This internship would help us solidify those relationships and help set a strategic course for accomplishing our goal. Intern would help local Lithuanian partner churches and support SBCV mission teams working during the summer.
This is a groundbreaking partnership and this intern will play a key role in the development of our strategy. We need someone who is self-motivated, hard-working, eager to work in this cultural context for the gospel, and able to wisely navigate as a guest while also providing strong leadership for our teams and the direction of our on-the-ground efforts over this summer.
Dates: Preferred timeframe would include May 20-July 8, 2018. We are willing to work with students to accommodate different schedule and dates if needed.
Financial Details: This internship is being sponsored through the Keesee Foundation and the SBC of Virginia, which means the recipient must be a seminary student from the states of Virginia, North Carolina, or South Carolina. Generous support from the sponsors means it is unlikely the intern would need to raise support from outside sources. It is possible that some funds for living expenses while in-country may be provided.
We hope you will prayerfully consider serving in Lithuania this summer!
