As highlighted here often, The Bridge Church in Wilmington NC is continuing to experience God’s hand on their ministry. We are been privileged to journey with them as God does His gospel work in Wilmington. Below is their latest update and another opportunity for you to partner with this local body in prayer.
August 23rd we moved to two gatherings! We did this in order to create space for more people in the city of Wilmington to be able to hear and experience the gospel on Sunday mornings. We are thrilled to tell you that with this increase in gatherings we have seen an increase of almost 200 attendees per week at The Bridge Church! On our first two-gathering weekend we saw over 500 people attend The Bridge Church – and that has continued since then. Praise God!
Baptisms and BBQ
We originally set out to celebrate baptisms at the beach, enjoy some BBQ, and soak up the last days of summer at our Beach Baptisms and BBQ on August 30. But God had other plans for us, so due to the rain we decided to move inside, thus “Building Baptisms and BBQ.” Over 300 people showed up to celebrate, and we saw 22 individuals demonstrate faith in Christ through baptism, including a dozen college students! We made a video commemorating the night that we would love for you to watch here. We also have a Facebook photo album up that contains great photos from the event here.
New Kids Space
Thanks to your continued financial generosity, last month we saw the launch of a brand new Bridge Kids space. Although our capacity for kids on Sunday morning has nearly doubled, it’s hard to quantify just how impactful the opening of this new space has been. The flow of traffic on Sunday mornings is much smoother, our check-in and check-out spaces are much more secure, and our facilities are much nicer and more inviting to new and prospective Bridge Church families. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all that you do to continue to make The Bridge Church a body of believers who are committed to being For Christ, For Community, and For the City.
Thank you to all who are supporting us on a regular basis. This vision would be impossible without the regular and sacrificial generosity of each of you. To learn more about how to give or to make your regular contribution to the Bridge Church, click here.
