Today, pray for a missionary serving in South Asia, in the birthplace of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. It is the highest concentration of lostness on earth with the largest number on unengaged and unreached people groups. God is at work there and the church is growing. He often heals people and there are many who have been set free from demonic oppression. The missionary recalls praying with a few believers last summer for a young lady’s father who was dying of stage four cancer and told to go home to die because there was nothing else the doctors could do. He asked about him two weeks later and found out that he was totally healed.
The church planting work is moving forward and this area is growing, but people lack theological understanding so they are being trained to better understand the Scripture and how to do the work biblically. Many people are oral learners and some are literate. His task is to train people with all levels of understanding to do the work and to equip the future leaders of churches and the church planters in an area with diverse backgrounds and a lack of education.
Please pray that God will raise up workers from the harvest, equip them, empower them and provide for them. Pray that believers here will be faithful to do the work and that God will reach all who can be reached and transform them for the sake of His great name.
“Let our hearts be filled with the assurance that prayer offered in living faith in the living God will bring certain and abundant answer.” – Andrew Murray
Missions is not a solitary effort.
- Pray for language and culture learning and the ability to communicate fluently in Hindi and for an effective translator that will work with me as a partner for the sake of the Gospel.
- Pray for good health and strength to do all that is required to do in a very difficult environment.
- Pray for the Lord to give me all that I lack to be Christlike.
- Pray that God will provide for all our needs to do what He has called us to do.
The Great Commission Studies (CGCS) is the hub of Southeastern’s Great Commission efforts, helping develop students and faculty members who are Great Commission servants of their local churches. The CGCS serves the Southeastern community in four major areas: academics, research, mobilization, and convention relationships.
