Our planter spotlight this week focuses again on Provo, Utah. As previously mentioned here, we want to encourage you to be in prayer for the Neiser family, serving in what many define as the least reached place in North America. Please take time to read through their update and pray for this family.
Hello friends and family!
We are getting into Summer mode…
BYU “Cross Seekers”
The spring semester at BYU is over, and our weekly Bible study on campus with Cross Seekers is taking a summer hiatus. We were able to meet with 2 prominent BYU professors last week to discuss hosting another event on campus like the Grace symposium we hosted last fall. The meeting went better than expected, and these professors are excited about a dual sponsorship with Cross Seekers to promote and host these events every Fall semester! Please be in prayer as we seek out an Evangelical/Baptist representative to come and speak on this topic in October. Our hopes are lofty!
The few students that will be in town through the summer will begin meeting at our house every other Wednesday night for a “book club” discussing “The Knowledge Of The Holy” by A.W. Tozer. Please be in prayer for this group as they (hopefully) become intimately acquainted with who God is. There are some LDS students in this group, and we hope more students would join us.
Church Plant Process
We very much enjoyed having a small mission team here from HDBC in Jonesboro, AR! We are so thankful for their many “feet on the ground” prayers and for the new contacts and conversations they were able to have with folks in our neighborhood while they were here. Please pray for future teams and partners that will come out and join us in God’s great work here in “Happy Valley.” Please continue to pray that God would lead us in wisdom and His timing with planting a church and that our focus and desire would continually be for His glory and not our own. Pray for more workers and a plentiful harvest!
Please continue to join us in praying for Brittany. She continues to talk with Ben about the Bible/Gospel and has expressed some interest in visiting First Baptist Church with us.
Please pray for boldness for both of us as we desire to have more Gospel conversations with our next-door neighbors before they move to Alaska at the end of the summer, as well as with many other neighbors around us.
We are thrilled that Ben’s dad (AKA “Pa”) is here for a lengthy visit. Pray that we will make the most of his time here with us. We are hoping to be able to travel to visit more family this summer, but finances and timing still need to be worked out for that. Please pray that God would provide in this area.
We would like to ask you to be in prayer for FBC Provo. There are many physical illnesses and ailments plaguing this small body of believers right now. Please pray specifically for healing for three young ladies: Lesley (the pastor’s wife), Lisa, and Krystle. Pray also that the church would come together to love and serve these ladies and their families well in the coming weeks and months. Pray that the Lord would provide for all of their needs and medical expenses.
As always, thank you for keeping up with us and for praying!
Ben, Lindsey, Ella, and Clara Beth Neiser
