The planter spotlight this week comes out of our own backyard, Wilmington NC. The Bridge Church is a plant committed to reaching their city with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Below are some ways for you to be praying for this plant as it advances the gospel in Wilmington. Please take time to read through their latest update and join this body in prayer.
We had our first-ever Easter worship gathering in April, and by God’s grace it was a major success! We celebrated the eternally risen Christ through teaching, worship, prayer, and communion at two different gatherings on Easter Sunday. We baptized two more individuals, and after the gathering three more people indicated that they received Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The Art of Neighboring
[Tweet “To be a disciple of Jesus necessitates living a life on mission.”] Jesus was not just a spiritual leader or moral example; he was a man on mission. He saw his life as having a purpose to love people and see people restored spiritually and materially to the way God designed them to be. To follow Jesus means we join him on his mission of restoring the world back to himself. Beginning May 31st, we will be starting a new series that we are calling “The Art of Neighboring” where we will learn what it means to live a life on mission in our neighborhoods and in our everyday lives.
Serve the City
We want to be a church that is For the City. So from time to time, we take a Sunday morning worship gathering and use it to serve, love, and bless our city. We call this Serve the City. This summer, we plan to go even further, and take multiple days to serve our city and demonstrate the love of Christ in Wilmington. From June 24-28, we will be hosting numerous projects and partnering with many local organizations to bless our city. Please make plans to join us this summer!
Pray the Spirit would be at work within the body as they commit to serving and living out the mission God has called them to in Wilmington.
Pray that strategic Kingdom connections and partnerships would be formed for the Glory of God in Wilmington.
