Natural disaster and tragedy around the world always hits close to home here at SEBTS. We have hundreds of current and former students serving around the world indifficult places. When the news broke of the recent earthquake in Nepal, we quickly thought about the Nepalese people as well as our own students serving in that part of the world.

Colleague and friend, George Robinson recounts, “Almost a year ago, I lead a team of 15 SEBTS students to Nepal. During those several weeks, our students traveled, trained, shared meals, shared sleeping quarters, and ministered alongside many amazing Nepalese Christ-followers. Relationships were formed around the gospel that only make recent events more personal and pressing, transcending the statistics that are being released by news outlets.”

As more and more tragic news comes–upwards of 4,200+ people have been killed and 7,000+ injured—let us continue to pray for the relief efforts there.

Considering that 27 million of the 31 million in Nepal are considered unreached, the needs in Nepal are physical and spiritual. Please pray with us for the following:

Life. As the death toll rises, please pray for the survival of those still trapped and unaccounted for.

Relief. The needs are incredible. Pray that relief will go to the right areas and reach people in time. People need food, water, shelter, medical care.

Christ. Pray that this disaster will lead to many openings for Christ as Nepalese see the love of Christ in real and meaningful ways.

SEBTS. Energy, compassion, and protection. Please pray these things for our SEBTS students and others working in Nepal.
