Pray for Colorado

Just seven miles outside of downtown Denver, our planter spotlight this week is Calvary Church Lakewood in Lakewood, CO. Times are exciting for this planter and his family as their official launch date draws close. Below are some highlights of their journey plus a few ways to be in prayer for them.

By God’s grace we have a location and new name for the church plant here in Denver. In 2015, we hope to plant Calvary Church Lakewood in Lakewood, CO. Lakewood is part of the Denver metropolitan area and ranks 5th in population among Colorado cities. For some time now, my heart’s desire and prayer has been to plant in the western region of Denver. I believe the city of Lakewood is that place. This area of Denver has seen little church planting efforts from gospel-centered church planting networks, but by God’s grace we hope to change that. Pray for Lakewood and for God’s power and blessing to go before us. Pray for God’s blessing as we look for a space to gather as a church in Lakewood.

In God’s providence and goodness He provided an opportunity this past year to develop as a church planter through the Calvary Family of Churches ( here in Denver. Many of the leaders and initial members of Calvary Lakewood will be formed from the Calvary Family of Churches. Please pray for future core-team members and leaders for Calvary Lakewood. Pray for others outside of Colorado to join this vision to plant.

Since making the decision to plant Calvary Church Lakewood, my family has moved in two significant ways! A week and a half ago my family moved 11 miles from our former home in the south-Denver area of Centennial to our new home in Lakewood. This means a new neighborhood and school for our children. Please pray for us as we transition. t Pray for friendships for Jessica and the children in Lakewood. Also, we have moved our membership from Calvary Church Littleton to Calvary Church Englewood. Englewood will serve as the sending church for Calvary Lakewood. Though these churches are closely connected, and both wonderful, they are different and present a change for our family. Please pray for quick friendships to form at Calvary Englewood. Pray for opportunities to build biblical community.

As 2014 comes to a close, please consider how God might be leading you to support this mission’s effort to plant Calvary Lakewood. We need the support of the larger body of Christ. Our supporters make our ministry here possible!

Thank you for encouraging and praying for us. God is gracious to work through the prayers of His people!

May His Kingdom come!
