A Family in Denver

On Thursdays, we introduce to you a church planting effort in North America. For many SEBTS current and previous students, this is their mission field. We regularly keep up with them, receiving their updates and newsletters and we pray for them. So, we want to hand off that blessing to you. This week, I want to share what God has been doing through a family that is planting themselves in Denver, Colorado.

This summer, we also had the opportunity to build friendships with neighbors. Please pray for them. They are an unchurched family who live in our neighborhood. This summer they attended Calvary Church together as a family. This was the first time the husband, to attend a “normal” church service with his family that was not a wedding or funeral. The wife and mother now attend Calvary regularly and will be joining our community group. As we continue to spend time with this family, please pray for gospel conversations with the husband and for his salvation.

I am grateful for the many partners who make this opportunity for church planting in Denver possible. Churches, families, and organizations like the North American Mission Board invest generously in the mission to make disciples for Jesus in Denver. The opportunity to develop as a planter has been essential. The opportunity to build strong relationships with local churches here in Denver has and will prove invaluable as we progress forward. I am excited about what God is doing to prepare us for the next steps of church planting. I look forward to sharing this news with you soon. Every church planter seeks to plant in the healthiest way possible, and I am grateful for the many ways God is providing! Please pray for wisdom and God’s blessing moving forward.

One of the ways God is providing is the opportunity to lead a community group of Calvary Church here in Denver. My family is excited to host and lead this weekly group in our home. Our prayer is that through this process and through the relationships we are building at Calvary, in the community, and nationally, God will burden the hearts of many to join our core team as we plant. Please pray that God would call many to join us in planting in Denver.

We praise God that a team member has found a job! Please pray God will use her in this environment to make Jesus non-ignorable.
