Did you know that out of all the places in the world, Dartmouth Massachusetts is one of the most unreached?
On Thursdays, we want to make you aware of a church planting effort in North America. Today, we’re excited to introduce Chad Hartis to you. Below is a glimpse into his world as a church planter. Please pray for the church in Massachusetts and specifically for Chad and his family.
Hello from the Hartis family!
I hope you are doing well! The past couple months have been busy and exciting! It has been a little while since I updated you on how things are going so there is a lot to fill you in on. In short, Jodi and I have been investing in the unbelievers God has led us to and we’re seeing fruit. We have begun hosting monthly get-togethers with those friends, which will turn into a weekly Bible study in July. (We will begin by walking through the Gospel of John). Here’s some more information about some of those individuals so you can pray more specifically:
Jodi has made a really good friend named Kathryn. She is married to Harry who is also unsaved and together they have a son named Cade who is Brayden’s age. Jodi and Kathryn have become close and she has recently been asking questions about the gospel. She is interested in joining us when we start the church.
One of the guys I have been investing in at work is named Mark. He and I walked through The Reason for God together which sparked several good discussions. Mark’s hang-up is not believing in the deity of Christ and he has a pluralistic mindset about God. He often initiates discussion and has been looking further into those issues.
I have also been discipling Billy, who is a part of our planting team. He has ministry experience but has never intentionally shared the gospel with someone he knew was lost. Last Friday he stayed after work to hang out with a co-worker named Chad who is at a tough place in his life and unsure where to turn. Bobby shared the gospel with him, is giving him a Bible and Chad and his wife Susan are coming to our fun event next weekend and are interested in our Bible study.
We have made several other steps towards planting South Coast Church as well. Next weekend we will be shooting a new support video to send to potential partners. Over the past 7 months or so I have been going through the assessment process to become a NAMB Church Planting Apprentice. We hope to hear something from them soon. Please keep that in your prayers as well. It would be a tremendous help.
Thank you so much,
Chad, Jodi and Brayden Hartis
