Mike Dodson is leading a trip to Salt Lake City in the Fall! The SBC church to population ratio is around 1 church for every 43,000 people in Salt Lake City. Overall, less than 3% of the population are affiliated with an evangelical church, with SBC churches making up less than 1%. Ethnic diversity can be seen in a growing Hispanic population (15%) and in the Asian/Pacific Islander presence (almost 4%).
SEBTS seeks to glorify the Lord Jesus by equipping students to serve the church and fulfill the Great Commission. This trip will provide an opportunity for you, as a SEBTS student, to work in church planting with NAMB’s SEND Salt Lake emphasis. SEND Salt Lake aims to bring a vibrant gospel presence to the people living in that area and partnerships with churches and other key partners like SEBTS are critical in helping to establish a long-term gospel presence through church planting.
With the help of field partners and church planters, you will engage in witnessing, service projects, and various other ministry opportunities. In addition, you are going to have the opportunity to engage some of the universities in the region and meet with key leaders in the Mormon church. So, would you pray about going to Salt Lake City? If you’re interested, come by the CGCS office to talk!
Approximate Cost: $1100-1200
The Great Commission Studies (CGCS) is the hub of Southeastern’s Great Commission efforts, helping develop students and faculty members who are Great Commission servants of their local churches. The CGCS serves the Southeastern community in four major areas: academics, research, mobilization, and convention relationships.
